There is the limited day to keep the Lord in the home some keep for a 1and half day, some for seven days and some for 11 days it differ from people to people.

The day when the Idol comes to the home the day goes very fast, and at the end of the days when there is the going day of the Lord Ganesha, there is the celebration all over. But when the idols have been dipped into the water, there are the tears in the eyes of the family members.

There is the saying that the hero of the Lord Ganesha has taken all the problem of the house and he keeps all the happiness for the family.

When the idol has been dipped to water, and we come back, there is the feeling of the lonely excitement in the house. On the last day of the Anant Chaturdashi, there is the visarjan of the idol, and there is the praying that lord, please come back fast in next year.


This festival has been started by the great freedom struggle that is Lokmanya Tilak, to remove the inequality among the people like the Brahmins and the non-Brahmins and to come together in this festival.

Festivals were started in the year 1893. Lord Ganesha is known by various names some of are like Ekadanta, God of limitless powers, Heramba (obstacles remover), Lambodara, Vinayaka, God of Gods, God of wisdom, God of wealth and prosperity and many more.
