Introduction:

A true legend of the country is Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Abdul Kalam was popularly known as the missile man of India. Throughout his life, Kalam encourages others to do their duty, and still, he is a big inspiration for the upcoming generation. A great salute to this legend.

Birth 

The full name of the Kalam was Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. He took birth on 15^th of October 1931 in a poor Tamil-Muslim family in Rameshwaram at Tamil Nadu. The parents of Kalam were Jainulabdeen and Ashima.

Early Life

The father of Kalam has owned a boat and was an imam in a local mosque. Whereas the mother was a homemaker. Kalam has four elder brothers and a sister. The family of Abdul Kalam had suffered a lot due to poverty as a result at a very early age Kalam decided to help in earning the livelihood for the family. He started the selling newspaper.

Schooling

Kalam was an average student in his school times but he was hardworking, he has a keen interest in learning. He was brilliant in maths. Kalam completed his schooling from Schwartz  Higher Secondary School.

Career

In 1954, from Saint Joseph College which is there in Tiruchirappalli, Kalam completed his graduation and aerospace engineering from Madras Institute of technology.

As soon as Kalam completed his graduation, he was appointed as chief scientist in Aeronautical Development Establishment of Research and Development Organization. Whereas for the first project of the indigenous satellite launch vehicle, Kalam was hired as the director of the project.

From the year,1992 to 1999 he was appointed as the scientific advisor of the prime minister. After the success of Pokhran II nuclear test in which Kalam was working as chief project coordinator, he got the title of Missile man of India.

In the history of India, it was the first time that any scientist who served as an Indian president from the year 2002 to 2007.

Kalam was called from various universities and institutes to serve as a guest lecture, to motivate students in life. According to him, the youth of the nation is the real asset, and for this, the youngster needs a role model for themselves.

Kalam was the president, a scientist who was respected with many awards for his noble service. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna award. Kalam also received Padma Bhushan in 1981 and Padma Vibhushan in 1990.

Death

On the 27^th of July 2015, at IIM Meghalaya, he took his last breath due to the sudden cardiac arrest. People paid many tributes for the loss of a great human being.

Even if the Kalam is not present physically today in between us, but still he is present by his work and by his inspirational words. Abdul served his whole life for the development of India. A great salute to the great leader.
