How Did The Children’s Day Celebration Start?

About Chacha Nehru
He graduated from Cambridge University. In 1912, he returned to India. In 1916, he married Kamala Nehru. In 1920, he met Indian leaders like Gopal Krishna Gokhale and Dr. Annie Besant. And joined the non-cooperative movement started by Mahatma Gandhi. He participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement and also joined Gandhiji’s Quit India Movement in 1942.
Jawaharlal Nehru was sent to jail many times. Finally, on 15 August 1947, India gained independence. Jawaharlal Nehru was one of the great leaders of India. He was a true politician. He was a lover of Indian culture, wrote such famous books as “The Discovery of India” and “Glimpses of World History”. He loved children very much and was called ‘Chacha Nehru’ by all the children.

Children’s Day is celebrated with great joy in every school. All the students eagerly look forward to this day. Children do not study on this day and wear colorful clothes in school instead of uniforms. Teachers prepare cultural programs for children.
