In 1928 she was 18 years old, and she decided to become a nun and set for Ireland to join sisters of Loretto in Dublin it was there that she took the name sister Mary Teresa and later sister mary travel to Darjeeling in India in May 1931 she made her first profession of vows afterwards she was sent to Calcutta where she was an assigned to teach at Mary’s High School for Girls School run by Loretto sisters and dedicated to teaching girls.
On 24th may 1937 she took her final profession of vows to a life of poverty Chastity and obedience as was the custom of Loretto nuns she took on the title of the mother upon making her final vows and thus become known as Mother Teresa.
Mother Teresa continued to teach at Saint Mary and in 1944 she became the school’s principal by her kindness generosity and unfailing commitment to her students education she shot to leave them to live of devotion to Christ ‘give me the strength to be ever the light of the life so that I am a lead them at last to you’are the words that she wrote in a prayer. Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity that is a Roman Catholic religious congregation which has over 4,500 sisters, and it was active all over 133 countries in 2012.
She has made all these things for the people who are homeless and dying of many diseases so she can provide facilities to all these people. She has also faced many criticisms in her life, and through all this, she had done many things for the people and fight for them.
Mother Teresa died in the year 1997 on 5th September when she was 87 years in Kolkata which is in West Bengal in India. Because of her work, she has received many and numerous Honours such as the Ramon Magsaysay peace prize in the year 1962 and also she had received the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 1979, and she was recognised by the church as a saint on 4th September 2016 and her death day is referred to as her feast day.
