Kamaraj was a great man who strengthened the infrastructure for the post-independence for Tamil Nadu generation. Kamaraj made many important decisions for the education sector.
He arranged that no village should remain without primary school. He pledged to remove illiteracy and introduced free and compulsory education till class 11th.
Kamaraj was born in July 1903 in Virud Patti, a small backward village in the extreme south, Virus Patti from where kamarajar belonged to was a very small village and the farmers living there were very backward.
The people there used to make toddy and used to fill their stomachs. His father Shri Natattan Mayakar Kudumbamb was the head of this village. being the head, he had to solve every problem of the village.
Astrologers Predicted Right About Kamaraj
When Kamaraj was born, after seeing the planetary constellation, astrologers said that the child Kamraj’s fame would shine like the sun. His mother, Mrs. Sivakami and grandmother Parvati Ammal had thought that astrologers used to say such things in order to please parents.

His Work As The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu
On 13 April 1954, Kamaraj became the Chief Minister of Madras for the first time. During this time, he campaigned to open a primary school in every village and high school in every panchayat. He started the scheme of free and compulsory education.
He ran the midday meal scheme for the first time in independent India. He said that millions of poor children of the state could have a full meal at least once. He introduced the free uniform scheme in schools in Madras.
Similarly, he is also credited for completing irrigation projects in Madras within the stipulated time and for providing electricity to every village after just 15 years of independence. Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru praised him and said that Madras is the best-administered state in India.
After becoming Chief Minister thrice, Gandhian Kamaraj resigned as Chief Minister and talked about being made the state Congress President. He said that all the elderly leaders of Congress are greed for power. They should return to the organization and should connect with people.
Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru liked this plan of Kamaraj very much. He decided to implement it in the whole country. This plan is known as the Kamaraj Plan in Indian politics. Due to this plan, six cabinet ministers and six chief ministers had to resign.
Cabinet ministers included people like Morarji Desai, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Babu Jagjivan Ram, and SK Patil. At the same time, chief ministers like Chandrabhanu Gupta of Uttar Pradesh, Mandloi of MP, Biju Patnaik of Odisha resigned from their posts. Kamaraj was made the president of the Congress after this.
Kamarajar was also involved in the Indian Independence movement.
