He still has the resources of the same old age farming. He has to depend on a lot of monsoons. If the rain does not get better on time, then the crops are dry. Famine (a situation in which there is not enough food for a great number of people, causing illness and death, or a particular period when this happens) is lost in the village, and hunger dies. He works hard with his hands, sheds blood and sweat, yet he is poor and poor.

Income Problem, Why?

His income is so low that he cannot buy good seeds, manure, tools, and animals. Being uneducated, he is not conscious of his rights. It is very important to be educated.

Also, he is forced to work on the farm from the children. Sometimes he has to go in the forest for his basic needs like wood, fruits, etc. because of low income.

Steps Taken Dy The Government

The government has taken some steps to help the Indian farmer. Arrangements have been made to provide loans on low interest so that they can buy seeds, manure, etc. But this is not enough.

The truth is that all facilities are not reaching to the farmer. For this, there is an absolute need to make primary education mandatory, free and complete. Schools must be opened in every village.

Honest and trained teachers should be imparted in schools. The farmer should be aware of the facilities about Loans which is available to the farmers to buy and to fulfill their needs. Unless the Indian farmer is poor and uneducated, then the country cannot flourish. He should be self-sufficient and educated by helping him in every way. There should be no such arrangement that he will never sit idle and the farm is not empty. For this proper arrangement of irrigation is very important.

Problems That Farmer Can Face

Most of Farmers of India are agricultural laborers, or they have a very little land. Many times, the land is also unreliable. Generally, there is a lack of resources for irrigation. Whatever he stays, he does not get the fair value. Many times, his fruit does not sell, and he gets scratched.

Our past Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri gave us the slogan ‘Jai Kisan, Jai Jawan’. It underscores the importance of our farmers. But their condition is still very pathetic. Every effort should be made to improve their condition. The prosperity of the country itself is dependent on their advancement and development.
