Chandra Shekhar Azad commonly prefers as Chandrasekar or popularly known as Azad.

Chandra Shekar Azad was born on 23 July 1906 at Bhavra, Central India agency in Madhya Pradesh. He was born in the era when British were ruling over India. Chandrashekar Azad father was from Kanpur, after the birth of Chandrasekhar Azad their family shifted to Madhya Pradesh.

His father name is Sitaram Tiwari, and his mother is Jagrani Devi Tiwari.

Chandra Shekhar Azad was a true freedom fighter and political activist.

His Deeds Towards Nation    

Chandrashekhar Azad mother wanted his son to be a Sanskrit scholar, so she recommended her father to put Chandrashekar in high-level school but Chandrashekhar Azad was a socialist, so he decided to leave school and take part in the freedom movement.

At the of 15 when Mahatma Gandhi noncorporation movement was going on Chandrashekhar Azad actively participated at this moment.

Mahatma Gandhi gave Chandrashekhar Azad his name Azad, and from then onwards he was preferred as Azad.

After the noncooperation movement of Mahatma Gandhi has not been successful Chandrashekhar Azad become more aggressive, he also participated in many other movements and tried very hard for the Indian Independence.

After doing many Revolutionary movements he met with many freedom fighters, with the help of Lala Lajpat Rai he participated and did many Revolutionary movements but once Lala Lajpat Rai was killed by the British officer John Saunders, Chandrashekhar Azad become very angry and with the help of Bhagat Singh and his friends Chandrashekhar Azad killed the British officer John Saunders who killed Lala Lajpat Rai. Many of our leaders are in full support of Chandrashekhar Azad.

He had developed many friends, and because of his more contact, he made many Revolutionary groups.

Many of the Congress leaders were also in favor of Chandrashekhar Azad, and he also got full support from them.

His Death   

With the help of Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad did many Revolutionary movements; they together rob many of the Britisher’s trains. He was actively present in the kakori train Robbery.

Chandrashekhar Azad died on 27 February 1931. An Unknown informer informed the British police about Chandrashekhar Azad residence; he was surrounded by many British Police officers in a park.

He was there in the park with his friends fighting with the British officers; he let their friends run away and fought alone with the police officers.

While fighting with the officers, he injured and killed many of the British officers, and his body was full of wounded by the bullets of the British officers.

He once had pledged that he would not die of the British people so by on his words he had only a last Bullet left, so he decided to kill himself by that last bullet. Chandrashekhar Azad committed suicide by killing himself.

His Legacy   

Chandra Shekhar Azad’s gun has been placed in the museum of Allahabad.

By his deeds for the freedom of the nation, many of the school, roads, and colleges of India has been named after him.

Many Institutions are also named after him. Chandrashekhar Azad was a true freedom fighter, and he is a Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad in the hearts of Indian people.
